He's Alive!

My best friend's husband is a well-known radio personality in the Washington, DC area. This is always the last song, of the last set he plays before Easter Sunday. I know, it's not Easter, but it will make you feel good on a Monday morning. Do listen to through to the end - there's a little surprise in this arrangement for those who love a good choir. (It really isn't "country.")

Dolly Parton...He's Alive!

What a great and wonderful song, and Dolly really can hit a song at full tilt!

I heard a great "story" yesterday as a part of a running homily. For those of you dog lovers I know you will get it. You know how you leave to go somewhere each day, to work, shopping or just a quick errand. Frequently you leave you dog behind, waiting for you. And remember how, when you dog's master arrives home and you open the door for the first time how absolutely delighted he/or she is to see you. Unabounded joy and happiness when you walk through the door? The dog doesn't know where you have been or what you have done he/she is just positively unabashedly happy and delighted you are home? Well, when we get to heaven and we walk through the door we may not know anything else about the place EXCEPT, our master is alive and he is there.

Nice post Lynn!

And Fred: dogs don't have a sense of "time" as we understand it, and I suppose the timeless God may not either...

regarding dolly, I used to sing I Will Always Love You which I believe is one of the most beautiful songs she ever sang.

i've always liked dolly though country isn't really my "thing".

Yes. As I tell the congregation, and as I endeavour to do myself, we must never speak of Jesus in the past tense.

Wow. How beautiful is that (Dolly and Don McLean together)?!

I'm still running toward the new blog on July 16 (and inviting some very unusual characters to join us).

You have to try this one!
